Welcome to O'Farrell Community School

O'Farrell Community School is a California charter middle school located in beautiful, sunny, San Diego. O’Farrell Community School strives to promote excellence in education by providing all middle school level students who attend O'Farrell Community School with a single, academically enriched curriculum within a multiethnic, technology advanced, student-centered environment. It is our mission to attend to the social, intellectual, psychological, and physical needs of middle school-level youth so they will become responsible, literate, thinking, and contributing citizens.

Things are happening at O'Farrell:

• STAR testing [1] will be conducted May 6th through May 8th. These days will be minimum days for students. Attendance is extremely important during this time. All parents should make certain that their child is at school, on time, for this important series of tests. Makeup STAR tests [2] wil be held during the week of May 12th through the 15th.

• O'Farrell Community School's Board of Directors meeting for May [3] is scheduled for Monday, May 12th, 2008.

• The ASB 'Spring Fling' dance [4] is Thursday, May 15th. Contact Ms. Meadows, Room 201, X4201.

• The spring Scholastic Book Fair [5] will be coming to O’Farrell Thursday, May 15th through Thursday, May 22nd. This year’s theme is Reading Road Trip, Visit Book Fair USA.

• Eighth Grade exhibitions [6] will start May 19th and continue through May 30th.

• Memorial Day [7] is Monday, May 26th. There will be no classes that day. Classes will resume on Tueday, May 27th.

• O'Farrell Community School is providing access for the parents of our students to a new, web-based, student reporting and information service, ParentConnection [8]. More information on ParentConnection is available [9].

• Parents should be purchasing uniforms [10] - today - to have your child properly outfitted for classes. O'Farrell Community School's 2007-2008 Uniform Policy [10] is available to download.
